After hearing about
the plight of CoCo, GSNCR contacted GALT (the Greyhound
Adoption League of Texas Inc.) and then made a donation to the
Angel's Stray Fund, to assist with the medical care of Coco. Below
are excerpts from the time she was discovered, to her most recent health
report. To find out more, feel free to follow the links below.
CoCo is a petite, 3-year-old black female, born
September 13, 2003. Her sire is D's Tootsie Pop, with Wigwam Wag as her
great-grand sire, and her dam is RW's Terra. CoCo is the "G" pup and was not
individually registered with the NGA. Wednesday, July 25, she was
found as a stray near
Ardmore, Oklahoma. She weighed 44 pounds and was in very bad shape when
found, and her
recovery has been quite remarkable. CoCo is now a playful, playful happy
girl with a lot to offer her forever home. CoCo is small animal and cat
tolerant.

CoCo came down with a very bad upper respiratory infection, chest rattling,
coughing and lots of green mucous in her nose. Her vet placed her on
antibiotics and cough medication. Following several days of treatment, she
began to show signs of getting over the worst of it. With regular meals,
she gained weight.

The photograph at left was taken just over a month following CoCo's arrival
at GALT. CoCo responded tremendously to treatment, and had
begun to fill out in all the right places.
